Today the Bible Study is about what God has called us to do. If you are a christian or have been raised in the church you've probably hear about the great commission. After Jesus had resurrected, just before descending to heven He said what we know as the great commission. It's in Matthew 28: 18-20, Jesus gives His disciples authority to spred the word of God. Being children of God we are called to do the same. He has put authority in us by sending the Holy Spirit. When Jesus died on the cross the curtain in the temple was torn as in Matthew 27: 50-51. That represented that we could all have direct access to God.
Think on this:
God sent his only son to die so that we can be his sons and daughters. Then He gave us the Holy Spirit and authority over the world. Why should we not do what God has asked us to do. Lets not let Jesus die for nothing.
Verses:
"Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'" - Matthew 28: 18-20 (NIV)
"And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.
At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split." - Matthew 27: 50-51 (NIV)
