The new year is almost here, and so is Christmas. The holiday is about giving. The greatest gift was given to us at Christmas. Jesus. When the wise men were traveling to where Jesus was there was a star, a bright light that lead them there. The star lead to ultimate salvation. We as Christians have that salvation and victory. It shows when we let our light shine. So now it's challenge time. What can you do to let your light shine? Weather it's giving a gift, paying for someone else's gift, shoveling driveways for free, baking cookies. There are endless possibilities. See how you can let your light shine!

Bible Study - Guidance
We know God cares for us. We know he has made all things good and wants us to succeed in all we do. But he doesn't want to just watch, he wants to be with you and help you. He wants to take the journey with you. "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." Psalms 32: 8. God will tell you what to do and how to handle a situation. So you don't have to go it on your own. God loves to teach his children. Psalms 25: 9, "He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way." How awesome is that. The best teacher in the world wants to teach you. Not just teach. He doesn't want to just be some high and mighty professor. He wants to be so close that he can guide you in your everyday. "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes." Psalms 37: 7. Isaiah 58: 11, "The lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail." WOW. If all that is really true, which it is, we are super blessed. You know God cares so much about having you exceed it's mined-boggling. So first we must wait on the Lord. And when we do he will make us overly successful. Good to hear, huh? "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Matthew 11: 28 - 29

Bible Study - Names
Names can mean a lot. They can be good or bad. A lot of times we feel like our name means nothing. But names carry a hole lot of weight. They mean something. In Genesis 4: 20 it says, "The man called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all living." The name Eve actually means Living or, Life. These days the meaning of a name means barley anything. But in biblical times your name meant a lot. Matthew 1: 23 "Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel," (which means, God with us) " I know you can't do a hole lot with the name you were born with, but who are you to Christ? "See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world dose not know us is that it did not know him." 1 John 3: 1. "and, 'In the very place where it was said to them, 'You are my people,' there they will be called 'children of the living God.'" Romans 9: 26. When life just pulls you down, and you gust feel blah. Think about who you are. Because your name holds more power than you know.

Bible Study - Peace In The Storm
I
don’t know about any of you, but to me,
the past few weeks have been incredibly stressful. However, I have come to the
realization that that is not what God wants for us. Psalm 23 says: “The Lord
is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh
me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He
restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's
sake.Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear
no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou
preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my
head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.” Wow. That is so amazing!
Imagine that! God wants us to have his peace. Heck! He MAKES us lie down in
green pastures and he LEADS us beside still waters! I don’t know about you, but
to me, those two things are just about the definition of serenity. “Peace
I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27) God
GIVES us his peace. You don’t have to earn it. It is not something that you
have to work for. It is a gift from our father. So we can bask in that! Why do we
insist on being stressed out when we have already peace? It is not “cool” or “tough”
to endure stress. Give your stress to God, and he will give you his peace.

Bible Study - Chosen For Sure
This weekend was my youth groups retreat. I can't say enough about how amazing it was. Usually when someone says that it means, "We went and jumped in the crick and drew on so-and-so's face and played musical chairs and played football and . . . It was so much fun." But when will the free time be the boring time? A lot of the time we see reaching out and speaking up for what we believe in as a target on our back. When really it should be viewed the other way around. The Christians should be walking around hitting the bulls eye. That's what we have been made for. 1 Timothy 4: 12 "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity," We have been chosen. When we believe, great things can come from it. John 14: 12 "Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father." That is awesome. We get to do things greater than what Jesus did. Yeah. It is pretty cool. Jesus walked on water and he said like five words and a storm went away. Clouds and all. So when just believing can cause great things. How exited are you? In 1 Thessalonians 1: 4 it says, "For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you," It is also nice to know that others have been chosen as well. "But the plans of the Lord stand firm, the purposes of his heart through all generations." Psalms 33: 11
