Dare to ask God for what is on your heart. Ask for what the world tells you is impossible.
"If you believe, you will receive you ask for in prayer."

Verse for the Day
If anybody sees this, well its probably meant just for you. This verse here has impacted me today. It was definitely a wake up call to how much time I give to be with God. And, lately its not been a lot. This verse has also awaken me to how intimate our relationship with God should be.
"But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."
~ Matthew 6:6

Bible Study - Hide Your Love Away
Lately I have found that we tend to jump at what is right in from of us. Especially when it comes to love. Now I know, thats been the topic forever. Well, maybe. It's just that sometimes we forget. But, its the stuff we tend to pass by. Like having a boyfriend or girlfriend. Are you seriously considering spanding the rest of your life with them. Why can't we wait? It's hard, trust me, I know. God gave me a promisse of a man so amazing. And, he is going to wait for me, so why shouldn't I. The world, culture want's to tell us different. That waiting is boring. That if you want something you have to go and get it. Revelation 2: 4 "Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first." Ouch. But it is so true. Wait though, in Jeremiah 29: 11 " 'For know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.' " So I encourage you. Fall in love with the Lord. As a friend of mine put it, "date Jesus."
So I found this song, on Valentines day of all days. Anyway, it really made me think, and appreciate the fact that my other half is waiting for me like, I am for them. I hope you can too.

Bible Study - What is Love?
What is love? Really think about this. What is your definition of love? I don't want you to just read this and agree. Really, truly what is love to you. Is it what you see in the movies. Girl likes guy, he falls for her. Happily ever after, with the same old pick up line, "She's different from other girls." Seriously, how many times are we going to hear this line? Or is love just for fairy tales. You are always alone and that will never change. This is a question that has been on my mind a lot recently. The question i've asked my self is this. Is love an action or a feeling. When someone says "I love you,"what dose that mean. I bet you've herd 1 Corinthians chapter 13 quoted before. It is known as the love chapter. It is most commonly read at weddings. "Love is patient, love is kind. It dose not envy, it dose not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no recored of wrongs. Love dose not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hope, always preservers." 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7. When I read that it seems like love is an action. Just before this Paul is talking about the want to receive the gift of prophecy. During this he writes, "If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have no love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing." So if love is not a feeling, than why do we idolize it? Yet in order to love properly we would have to be perfect. John 3: 16, we all know very well. It seems like that verse has be come a clique. But check the verse right after, John 3: 17, "For God did not send his Son to the world to condem the world, but to save the world through him." So Jesus was sent to love us. Not to fall in love. So the next time you hear some one say, "I love you," what will you think of. What are you really saying when you say, "I love you too," to some one. Because love is not just a feeling. If anything, it is an action.

Bible Study - The Mid-Winter Blues
I'm going to apologize in advance for the length of this post! There was just so much I needed to include!
I don’t know about you,
but it seems that in about the middle of January every year, I get into
somewhat of a funk. The winter has barely started, but it’s about that time
when you just get sick of the cold weather, and my mom starts looking at
Real-Estate down south. The school year is only half way over, but it feels
like it is the only thing that I’ve ever known! The only break to we have to
look forward to is summer, and that is still light-years away. Stresses of
homework, grades, life, and drama seem to pile up in a giant weight on your
shoulders. All those things that God had told you at Camp aren’t really in the
forefront of your mind anymore. All you are able to do are clumsily scramble
through life, taking it all one day at a time ‘till school lets out.
Well, what if I told you
that in 3 simple steps, you too can combat the Mid-Winter Blues! Yes, that’s
right! So sit back while I lead you through them! (I feel like I’m in an
infomercial! Haha)
1. Give
Thanks
It’s in these crazy times that we need to
remember to give thanks to God for all he’s done. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says
this “Give thanks in all
circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
Yup, kids, in ALL circumstances! How many of y’all know that by all, God means
ALL! The good, the bad, the ugly, and the hideous! Think about it. God
sacrificed HIS SON for us. And it wasn’t a walk in the park for Jesus either!
No sir! But he loved us so much that he hung on a tree and suffocated to death
while the people that he was saving taunted him and threw lots for his
clothing. Now, Jesus was not helpless. He had the power of God! He had the
authority to call down bolts of lightning, smite all the people, and jump down
from the cross. But he didn’t. Do you know why? Because that wouldn’t save YOU.
He took YOUR punishment and suffered greatly with it so that you could live in
heaven instead of the eternal fire of Hell. Wow. And that’s just one of the billions
of incredible things that God has done for you! When you focus on the things
God has done for you, all those problems you are facing seem to be a little
less daunting…which brings me to step two!
2. Look
to God
STORY TIME!!! Now, I’m going to have y'all read a story about two guys who looked to God in their darkness. Go to blueletterbible.org and look up Acts 16:16-34(This bible study would be incredibly long if I included it!) Paul and Silas looked to God when all hope seemed lost. They were in
a PRISON FOR PETE’S SAKE!!! And God brought them out! And helped others in the
process! And, by golly, they are not the only ones who were brought out of pain
and suffering when they looked to God! God’s done it before, he can do it
again!
3. Press
on!
Okay, now that you’ve been encouraged, it’s time to
belly up and press on alongside the creator of the universe! James 1:12 says “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast
under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life,
which God has promised to those who love him.” So in the words of
Hebrews 12:1 “Therefore, since we
are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything
that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”

Bible Study - He Will Not Abandon
"For the LORD your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon or destroy your forget the covenant with your ancestors, which he confirmed to them by oath."Deuteronomy 4: 3. The part I want you to get is well, pretty much the entire verse. We know that God loves us and wants us to be happy and prosperous. In this verse it is saying that the things that have past will not be forgotten. that the battles that you have fought, that others have won, for the good of the kingdom are not forgotten. And, that in the future He will not leave you in crisis. "But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one." 2 Thessalonians 3: 3. God is a protecter. He will give you what is fit to protect yourself with. In saying the Lord is faithful, I think it means that we doubt God far too much and need to let him do the work. "So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me." Acts 27: 25. Just simply take in what this verse says. Don't give up on God cause he never gives up on you.

Challenge Time - Letting Your Light Shine
The new year is almost here, and so is Christmas. The holiday is about giving. The greatest gift was given to us at Christmas. Jesus. When the wise men were traveling to where Jesus was there was a star, a bright light that lead them there. The star lead to ultimate salvation. We as Christians have that salvation and victory. It shows when we let our light shine. So now it's challenge time. What can you do to let your light shine? Weather it's giving a gift, paying for someone else's gift, shoveling driveways for free, baking cookies. There are endless possibilities. See how you can let your light shine!
