Bible Study - Father in Heaven

You know thous days when nothing seems to be going your way.  When you try so hard but nothing seems to come from it.  Well it could very possibly be that your not letting your Father in Heaven take care of you.  Yeah, I know another "LISTEN TO GOD" sermon.  So many times we try and take on our problems without help.  When God has already said he has everything for you.  Matthew 6: 25-26 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will you will wear.  Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?  Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet our heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not much more valuable than they?"  He will provide.  Ether a car, dinner, or money.  It dose not matter the pries because Jesus already paid the biggest one.  "In that day you will no longer ask me anything.  Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you asked in my name." John 16: 23.  "All thous the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away." John 6: 37.  What do theses verses say?  That He (God) will look after you!  Really all we need to do is look to God.  When you excepted Jesus into your life you got the biggest gift ever.  You can call on him and he will provide.  Maybe not when you want.  But that's the fun part right?  Getting what you want when you want it or need it would make life easy.  We wouldn't need God.  Next time instead of taking matters into your own hands give it to your Father in Heaven.

Bible Study - Blameless

Je'kob - Initium (Faith's Spark)

Genesis 17: 1 "When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, "I am God Almighty; walk before me faithfully and be blameless.' "  No matter how bad we've messed up, when we walk with God we are blameless.  That means there will be no wrong under our name in the Book Of Life.  We will be as white as snow.  Clean.  You don't wash the dishes before you put them in the dishwasher.  It's the same.  Don't clean up before you go to God.  Thats what he dose.

Bible Study - Give Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving! As it is Thanksgiving, I thought it would only be appropriate to do a message on the giving of thanks! 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says this, "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." I think many times we forget to thank God for the things we have. We often take for granted things like food in the refrigerator, or internet access, or even just having clean clothing every day. So often, I find myself getting wrapped up in what’s happening in my life that I neglect to thank God for what I have. I once heard it said that no matter how awful your life looks, there will always be SOMEBODY wishing that they could be in your position. We have been gifted HUGELY by the creator of the universe. And I’m not just saying your material gifts. God has given you ETERNAL LIFE WITH HIM IN HEAVEN!!!! And he paid through the nose for that gift! If a friend of yours randomly decided to buy you a Ferrari, what would you do? You’d say “Thank you!” right? RIGHT? And every time you rode in that Ferrari, you’d think to yourself “I can drive this car because So-and-so bought it for me!” Well, James 1:17 says “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” Soo… that means that all those good things that you have ARE FROM HIM! So thank him! “Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever” Psalm 107:1

Bible Study - Faith

Hebrews 11: 1 "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance in what we do not see."  Wonder what the topic is today?  Well you guessed it.  Faith.  It is something so powerful yet we can't see it.  Only a small about is needed to do great things.  Matthew 17: 20 "Because you have so little faith.  Truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustered seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to their,'  and it will move.  Nothing will be impossible for you."  Get this, the same thing is said in Luke 17: 6 "He replied, 'If you have faith the size of a mustered seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and be planted in the sea,' and it will obey you."  Sweet huh?  People always say this.  And I know it can feel kinda like a cliche.  But it wouldn't be in the Bible if it wasn't true right?  I experiences this for myself the other day.  I don't like to brag but this was pretty cool.  My sister was complaining about her knee hurting so I half joking said, "Heal knee!" My sister looked at me, she said it felt better, it didn't hurt.  Now I don't know about you but I'm not gonna take my mustered size faith for granite any more.  If God can work through a halfhearted command then what will He do with a ready spirit.  This is something I am working on as well.  Opening up my self to God all the time.  Believing in something we can't see is not in the human nature.  Everyone struggles with it.  Romans 10: 17 "Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, the message is heard through the word about Christ."

Bible Study - The Early Church

What does your church look like? Not like the outside part, how would you describe what happens between you and the rest of the congregation when you meet? How does that compare with the early church? Well, in Acts 2:42-47, God gives us a description of the early church. "They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Okay, I’m just going to take a little stop here. They DEVOTED themselves to all those things! The dictionary.com definition of the word “devoted” is “to give up or appropriate to or concentrate on a particular pursuit, occupation, purpose, cause, etc.: to devote one's time to reading. That means like COMPLETELY deciding that those things are the sole purpose in your life. “ Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles.” Well, that’s cool! WONDERS and SIGNS! I want to perform wonders and signs! I think that this sort of comes because of the last point. When you completely devote yourself to prayer (which is a conversation with God), it is only natural that you will become more like him! “All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need.” Okay… I know what you are thinking. That doesn’t really sound that appealing. I don’t want to sell my stuff! Much less so I can give the money to some random person! BUT it also says that all  the believers had everything in common, that means you really wouldn't have to give a bunch to help one person! And also, when you came to a rough patch, everyone would be ready to help you out. “Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts.” Every. Day. Isn’t that a bit much? Isn’t Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights enough? Well, not to them. They were so hungry that they continued to meet together EVERY DAY! While we may not be able to attend church every day, it is still very important that we continually meet with people who will encourage our faith. “They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Isn’t that nice! I think a lot of times we fail to replicate this same principles that they have in this verse, and we are disappointed by what our churches look like. However, I am convinced that God will give us this same church experience. All we have to do is devote ourselves to him, and ask for it.

Bible Study - How He Loves

David Crowder*Band - How He Loves (Official Music Video)
We apologize for the late post.  Life got big.  Speaking of big, God's love is crazy big.  This song, when you listen to the words and feel what is being sung is so powerful.  A lot of the time it seems we sing along and never realize what we are saying.  God's love for us is amazing.  Romans 5: 5 "And hope dose not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us."  The Holy Spirit was given to us by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Listen to this song (if you haven't already) and put yourself in that spot.  Where he is the hurricane.

Bible Study - Joy of the Lord

The emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune or by the prospect of possessing what one desires.  A feeling of great pleasure and happiness.  Intense and especially ecstatic or exultant happiness.  The expression or manifestation of such feeling.  These are all definitions of joy.  Psalms 28: 7 "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trust in him, and he helps me.  My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him." "You turned my waling into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,"  Psalms 30: 11.  When we trust God, lean on him in our life we began to have joy.  We are thankful for what has been given.  Joy is a response to what God has done for us.  An example is in Isaiah 51: 11 "Those the Lord has rescued will return.  They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads.  Gladness and joy will overtake them, sorrow and sighing will flee away."  I know it is hard to find joy in the every day.  It's hard to be joyful.  Even just to find the positive.  We put these masks on and walk around like its okay when it's not.  When can we realize that God has so much for us.  He has given us tons of things to be thankful for.  Little do we know, but joy is a weapon for Christ.  Nehemiah 8: 10 "Nehemiah said,'Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared.  This day is holy to our Lord.  Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.'"  The part I want you to catch is that last sentence.  Joy, the joy of the Lord is strength!  Remember the definitions of joy in the beginning?  If we can have that attitude how awesome would life be!  Let the joy of the Lord run free and see all that God has for you.

Bible Study - Decisions, Decisions, Decisions

Decisions, decisions, decisions. We are always making SOME sort of decision! It may be something as simple as what to get your best friend for their birthday, or something as difficult as what you want to do for the rest of your life! Whatever it is, you have some decision to make today that you may not have an answer to. The Bible says in James 1:5 "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." Okay... how does that apply to this? Well, when you're making a decision, you need to have wisdom. How many of you know that if you are foolish, you are NOT going to be making good decisions. Wisdom comes from God. In Proverbs 2:1 says "For the Lord gives wisdom;  from his mouth come knowledge and understanding." So since wisdom comes from God, if the solution you are thinking of for your problem doesn't line up with other things the Bible about problems like yours, than it's probably not the wisest decision. It may hold you up for a little while, but it will only be a band-aid on the problem. When it comes down to it, the problem will not be good. This is why I encourage you all to ask God for his wisdom when you're making decisions. Matthew 7:7 says "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." So not only does God hold all the wisdom you need to know the right choice to make, but he'll give it to you if you ask him for it! How cool is that! So, the next time you run into a hard decision, look at what the Bible says about the situation, and ask God for wisdom to see which is the better choice.

BIBLE STUDY - Being With God.

If you read the post from the other day, you will know we are sorry for our absence of bible study's.  Yet through the inconvenience I learned something that I thought is valuable for any believer.  We, the Christians, need to spend time with God.  We can get so distracted by stuff.  The funny thing is it can be good stuff.  Like homework, helping a friend out, driving your siblings (or kids) around, work, fellowship.  A perfect example Luke 10: 38-42 "As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a women named Martha opened her home to him.  She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said.  But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made.  She came to him and asked, 'Lord don't you care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself?  Tell her to help me!'  'Martha, Martha,' the Lord answered, 'you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed.  Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.'"  It is good to clean your room, do dishes, help out at church functions.  It's when we let doing things get in the way of why we are do it.  When we are in constant contact with God we do things out of nature.  In 2 Corinthians 4: 15 "All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God."  You've probably heard that when you spend lots of time with someone you began to think, talk, even look alike.  It's the same way with Jesus.  When you spend time with him you began to look like God, because Jesus and the Father are one.  I encourage you, sit at the feet of Jesus.

Bible Study - Arms Wide Open

Let me start by saying we are SOOOO sorry for the inconvenience! We have let other things get in the way the Bible-study writing. Our greatest apologies to you all who are (hopefully) enjoying the Bible studies. :)
 -The Kingdom Warriors Team

Okay, now. Let's get down to business!
~*~
Have you ever had one of those days where NOTHING goes right? You burn your toast, get to school late, and then SURPRISE! you have a test in first period chemistry. You get frustrated, and yell at your friends, and then suddenly no one is on your side. Everything in the world seems to be screaming at you for anything you've EVER done wrong, and everything all just comes crashing down on you at once.  We all have those days when all you want to do is curl up in a ball and hide in a hole.Whether you like to admit it or not, it's true. Let me ask you, at that moment, when your world seems to go up in flames, where do you look?
Sometimes, when we feel like (as a friend of mine so eloquently put it) a piece of crap on a highway, the very last thing we want to do is talk to God about it. We don't want him to know all of the things that we have done wrong. We are ashamed. We are afraid that God may no love us as much as he used to because of that thing we did wrong. But that is a lie. Romans 5:8 says this: "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." While we were STILL sinners. That means that he didn't sacrifice himself for a perfect, sinless version of yourself. He died for you while you were still the same exact you that you are now. God knows the choices that you are going to make even before you make them.  Psalms 139: 1-4 says this: "O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar. You scrutinize my path and my lying down, And are intimately acquainted with all my ways. Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, O LORD, You know it all." How many of you know that that does not just include your good thoughts. God knows all of your thoughts. And he STILL LOVES YOU! Imagine that! So when you are having a rough time, just remember that no matter what you do, it is never to late to come back to God. He has never loved you more, even in that moment when your entire world seems to have dropped out from under you.
Another little thing that kind of relates to this. Have you ever witnessed someone you love suffering through a situation, but they don't seem to let anyone in to help them? You know you could help them out, but they refuse anything you try to offer them. It hurts. Not only does it hurt the person who is relying on their own failing strength, but it also hurts the person who wants to help them. I think that is the same way with us and God. It pains him when his children do not come to him for help. He wants to help us out because he loves us, and he knows all of the answers. He doesn't want you to suffer anymore than you do. So when you have a problem in your life, come to God. He's waiting for you with arms wide open.

BIBLE STUDY - Why Do We Worship

In our lives we tend to forget about spending time with God.  I know I do.  But what always brings me back to him is worship.  Anytime, it really doesn't matter where I am, if I'm listening to worship music the Holy Spirit is there.  I've been in school listening and out of nowhere I just wanna cry.  Let me tell you it is an awesome feeling.  Just knowing that God will show up anytime, the perfect time.  But why do we worship?  "I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me.  I have set the Lord always before me.  Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.  Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay.  You have made know to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand." Psalms 16: 8-11.  We praise God because, for one thing, he will never leave us.  Also because he paid the ultimate price so we can live.  "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast.  For we are Gods workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us."  Ephesians 2: 8-10.  Now that, my friends is another amazingly-awesome reason we worship God.  I encourage you to into a time of worship.  It shouldn't be a chore, make it from the heart.  Really try to close the gap left in between you and God.  Because he loves to spend time with you.  Here is a song, just listen to the words and worship.  Let God love on you.    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jas8siNG3Bo&feature=relmfu

Bible Study - The Most Important Thing

The more I get to know God and his word, I'm seeing that everything comes down to love. According to Corinthians 13:1-13 "If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don't love, I'm nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. If I speak God's Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, "Jump," and it jumps, but I don't love, I'm nothing. If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don't love, I've gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I'm bankrupt without love." Um, wow. No matter what we do, we are bankrupt without love. Bankrupt. That's in the Bible, kids! And it's not the only place that says that too! In Colossians chapter 3:12-14, Paul is addressing the the Colossians about the way to act. He says to them  "Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity." Again, love is the most important thing. Have you ever heard the saying "Love makes the world go round?' Well, although it is SO cliche, I think there is a little bit of truth to that, however, I think it would be a little more accurate to say that love is what holds the world together. Needless to say, we need to love each other! But not that fake love that we see so often. "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." (1 Corinthians 13:4-7) We should love everyone like that! Not fake, selfish love, but the love described in this verse. Okay, now I know this isn't a real exciting Bible study, but here is something that should excite you. God is love. So every spot in that verse that says "Love is" you can substitute God's name. God is patient. God is kind. And he loves you. Remember that throughout your day, and love because he has first loved you.

BIBLE STUDY - Temptation

Temptation.  It is everywhere.  In school, at home, work.  The list could go on forever.  Like when you know you have tons of homework but the computer is sitting right in front of you.  And everything inside you is like "Take the chance.  Only on video.  I'm only going to be on Facebook for a second.  Then the next thing you know its been an hour and absolutely NO homework has been done.  Well in Mark 14:38 it says "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.  The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."  So all we need to do in those tough situations is pray.  How awesome.  You know the times when it becomes important to be hip.  You feel like well maybe if I wear this than she will like me, or if I act a curtain way he'll like me.  Okay I know this study is about temptation not peir-pressur.  But the two topics go hand in hand.  A lot of the time we fall into the temptation of the world.  Trying to fit in.  Lets go to 1 Timothy 6:9 "Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction."  I know, you thinking, "Not very encouraging,"  Just bear with me.  In 1 Corinthians 10:13 it says, "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind.  And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.  But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."  Now that is pretty awesome!  Have you ever noticed that in the Lords prayer it states about temptation.  Matthew 6:13 "And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us all from the evil one."  It is so important to God that we keep our eyes, heart ad spirit with him in mind he reminds us.  Not just for his glory but for our benefit.  I hope you saw the "-from the evil one."  So next time you think about taking the "easy" rout or trying to fit in, pray about it.
