Bible Study - Peace In The Storm

I don’t know about any of you, but to me, the past few weeks have been incredibly stressful. However, I have come to the realization that that is not what God wants for us.  Psalm 23 says: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.” Wow. That is so amazing! Imagine that! God wants us to have his peace. Heck! He MAKES us lie down in green pastures and he LEADS us beside still waters! I don’t know about you, but to me, those two things are just about the definition of serenity.  Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27) God GIVES us his peace. You don’t have to earn it. It is not something that you have to work for. It is a gift from our father. So we can bask in that! Why do we insist on being stressed out when we have already peace? It is not “cool” or “tough” to endure stress. Give your stress to God, and he will give you his peace.
