Bible Study - Equal in His Sight
In every community, there is some sort of pecking order. It may be based on how much money a person makes, or maybe the style of clothing they wear, or how good they are at a certain sport. Whatever it is, some small group will almost always be treated better than the others. As you probably already know, this leaves the remaining group feeling dejected, hurt, and worthless. While people do pick favorites inour world, it is a pleasure to know that God does not. He loves every person exactly the same. In Deuteronomy 10:17, the Bible states this: "For the LORD your God is the God of gods and the Lord of lords, the
great, the mighty, and the awesome God who does not show partiality nor
take a bribe." Acts 10:34 says this: "I really understand now that to God, every person is the same." Every person is the same. Think of the "best Christian" you know. God loves you just as much as he loves that person. Alright, now think of the baddest person you know. God loves them just as much as he loves you too! So do you know what that means? God loves you the same huge and awesome love that he loved Jesus with. How awesome is that! (That's the grace of God and the power of the cross right there!) You know what else it means? That even the really strange kids in your school are loved equally by God, so we should treat them with the same love that you would treat anyone else. As you go about your day today, when that kid in your algebra class asks if the teacher is going to assign homework, remember that God loves them just as much as he loves you. I challenge you to love others the way that God loves them, the way that God loves you.
